Andrea J. Smith, a native of Australia, studied and then subsequently taught drawing at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy for several years. She now divides her time between her homeland in Melbourne, New York, and Florence. She has taken part in many exhibitions in both Australia and the United States and has won several prizes including the Alice Bale Travelling Scholarship.
